Chitkul, Kalpa and Kaza Tour Overview
Kinnaur Spiti Tour By 12 Seaters Tempo Traveller covering Kinnaur and Spiti over 6 nights and 7 days for 2 adults. Pickup and drop from Shimla. Chitkul, Kalpa and Kaza Tour Itinerary
Day 1
Distance approx 230 Km with travel time about 7-8 hours. On arrival at Shimla airport or railway station you will be welcomed and driven to Sangla. On arrival in Sangla you will check in to the hotel, have dinner and overnight stay in Sangla.
Day 2
Short day trip of about 22 Km total taking 1-2 hours. After breakfast proceed for a day trip to Chitkul, the last inhabited village of India, visiting village sites, Durga Temple and the Baspa River, then visit Rakchham village and valley before returning to the same hotel in Sangla for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3
Long drive of approx 190 Km taking about 5-6 hours. After breakfast check out from hotel in Sangla and proceed to Tabo/Dhankhar. En route visit Powari, Khabb, Nako and Giu. Arrive in Dhankhar/Tabo in the evening, have dinner and overnight stay in Tabo.
Day 4
Short transfer of around 50 Km taking 1-2 hours. After breakfast check out from hotel and proceed to visit Dhankhar Lake and local monastery sites, then drive to Kaza. Arrive in Kaza in the evening and stay overnight.
Day 5
Full day of exploration around Kaza covering key Spiti Valley attractions. After an early morning breakfast explore Kaza and surrounding high altitude villages including Kee Monastery, Kibber, Chichim Bridge, Langza (altitude about 14,500 ft), Komic village (one of the highest villages with motorable road) and Hikkim. Return to Kaza in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6
Drive of approx 160 Km taking about 4-5 hours. Morning breakfast, check out from hotel in Kalpa and drive towards Tabo. On the way visit Nako Lake and then visit Tabo Monastery and Tabo caves used by monks for meditation. Dinner and overnight stay at Tabo/Dhankhar.
Day 7
Final day drive of approx 222 Km taking about 6-7 hours. After breakfast check out from hotel and drive back to Shimla where the tempo traveller will drop you at the airport or railway station. Tour ends.
