Hanoi Tour Overview
7 nights 8 days backpacking itinerary across Vietnam covering Ho Chi Minh, Da Nang, Hoi An, Ba Na Hills, Hanoi, Halong Bay and Ninh Binh. The trip includes arrival transfer in Ho Chi Minh, city walking tours, Cu Chi Tunnel exploration, internal flights from Ho Chi Minh to Da Nang and Da Nang to Hanoi, beach time at My Khe, Ba Na Hills cable car and Golden Bridge visit, Halong Bay day cruise with kayaking, Ninh Binh Trang An boat ride and Mua Cave climb. Meals include predominantly breakfasts and one lunch on the cruise. Accommodation is 4 star hotels on twin sharing. Activities include local guided tours, cultural experiences, adventure rides and sightseeing with airport transfers and local intercity transfers on a sharing basis.
Hanoi Tour Itinerary
Day 1
Upon arrival at the airport our guide and driver will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in central Ho Chi Minh City in about 20 minutes. Starting at 5 pm join a walking tour to discover the vibrant heart of Saigon blending modernity with tradition. The tour includes trying Vietnamese food at the Food Court opposite the war museum visiting Saigon Cathedral and Saigon Centre Post Office and ends at the HCMC Town Hall. At around 11 pm you will be taken to Bui Vien Walking Street for nightlife and then return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2
Post breakfast depart for the Cu Chi Tunnels which is approximately a 1.5 hour drive. A brief introduction and a video about the tunnel construction and wartime use will be provided. Explore the extensive tunnel systems including living quarters kitchens and weapons factories. Taste complementary wartime food and you have the option to try real shooting with AK 47 and M4 guns at own expense. In the evening board your flight to Da Nang and after arrival check in to your hotel.
Day 3
Start with a slow morning and spend leisure time at My Khe Beach. In the evening embark on a basket boat ride and explore Hoi An ancient town visiting streets including CI 5 and 14 old Phung Hung houses the local market and the ancient port. Hoi An lights up with colorful lanterns at Lantern Street offering a fairytale atmosphere and you will have free time to wander through the town before returning to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 4
In the morning around 7 to 8 am set off for Ba Na Hills. Check in at Suoi Mo Cable Car Station and proceed to Marseille Station. Explore the Golden Bridge known for its hands of the gods sculptures visit the picturesque Lunar Castle then take the train to the French Village in the afternoon. Enjoy Fantasy Park games and visit King Peak before returning to the Cable Car Station and transferring back to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 5
Early morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Hanoi. At around 5 pm begin a half day city tour with a walking exploration of Hanoi Old Quarter visiting Mural Street and the cafes at Train Street where you can enjoy the famous egg coffee as trains pass. Spend some relaxing time near the lake and return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 6
In the morning transfer to Halong Bay and arrive at Tuan Chau Harbor to board the cruise. Enjoy a scenic 5 to 6 hour journey with refreshments visiting the Surprising Cave to view unique limestone formations. Explore Ti Top Island relax on the beach and climb Ti Top peak for panoramic views. Experience kayaking or a bamboo boat ride in Luon Cave and enjoy sunset tea or wine while returning to Tuan Chau Harbor. Depart for Hanoi and return to your hotel for the night.
Day 7
After breakfast pickup from your hotel in the Old Quarter and head to Trang An and Mua Caves enjoying scenic rural views along the way. Arrive in Ninh Binh climb the 500 steps of Mua Cave for panoramic views of Hoa Lu and explore Trang An Eco Tourism Area by boat discovering limestone cliffs caves and tranquil countryside landscapes. Visit Sang Cave Tol Cave Ba Giot Cave and Nau Ruou before returning to Hanoi for an overnight stay.
Day 8
Post breakfast spend some leisure time until check out and transfer to the airport for the departure flight back home.
